While working as a trainee journalist with The Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media, I was shortlisted out of 40 trainee journalists to become a part of the core magazine team consisting of 12 members. I got an opportunity to collaboratively brainstorm story ideas and learn the right approach for producing good quality content, layout and design for our monthly publication, The Beat 2016-17. Below are a few samples:

The impact of Demonetisation: In collaboration with another team member, I wrote a story about a 2016 policy decision taken by the central government that shook the roots of the Indian economy.
Wretched of the Earth: A research piece discussing the adverse impact of development-induced displacement and resettlement on indigenous and tribal populations in India.
The Lives of Others: An interview with a policy researcher turned entrepreneur who founded NRINAM- an eco-friendly handicraft production company run by 17 teenage girls belonging to a regional community of North India. (Page-18)
Travel write-up: The story of first-hand experience in Gokarna: a mesmerising coastal town located near the western mountain range of India.
